CableGuard is a unique anti-theft cable protection system designed to provide buried cable with cost effective, zero maintenance and corrosion-resistant protection. CableGuard units are injection moulded from reinforced engineered polymers which gives it the strength and durability to be effective. The system is simple and easy to install on a wide variety of cable sizes using a clamp and interlocking shield mechanism.
Utilising the latest computer aided design and finite element analysis techniques, CableGuard units are designed to provide optimum product performance for in-service load conditions. Not only do the units offer highly effective protection when installed, but due to moisture absorption over time, the clamps sit even tighter around the cable, adding additional tensile resistance. Any creep or stretching of the cable’s outer layer results in a permanent set of the sheathing material, which enhances the ability to safeguard the cable installation.
When CableGuard was subjected to rigorous testing, including combinations of straight pull, reverse pull and the perpendicular method, reaching up to 6 tons of load, all attempts to remove the underground cable were unsuccessful.
