Raytek has launched its latest MI3 Series range of compact sensors with the enhanced network connectivity with advanced communication options. Existing communication protocols are Profibus, ASCII and Modbus, newly added are Ethernet and Profinet.
This represents a new level of performance and innovation in continuous noncontact temperature monitoring for a broad range of OEM applications and manufacturing processes.
All sensor operating parameters are externally accessible and configured through the standard user interface with large backlit LCD display, or with the powerful Raytek DataTemp Multidrop software via the standard USB 2.0 digital interface, supplied with the unit.
New and patented is the communication between the heads and the communication box. This digital communication has moved away from the industry standard of an analog signal and unlocks the advantages of plug-and-play connection of the sensor head – sensors are automatically recognised by the communication box, eliminating the need for manual setting of calibration codes.
The MI3 provides self-diagnosis and also indicates if a head wire is broken. This is helpful for compliance with ISO 9001 safety requirements.
