Assembled fluid drive coupling on test bench.
Voith Turbo supplies the complete Voith Fluidrive fluid coupling range and also offers a service and repair service either onsite or at its state-of-the-art workshop in Boksburg. “Fluidrive fluid couplings protect belt conveyors and drive components by providing smooth acceleration and torque control, allowing for frequent loaded starts with the least amount of stress on the drive and belt,” explains Fluidrive product manager, Shayne Crouwkamp.
This robust range of fluid couplings comprises constant fill fixed speed Vulcan Sinclair FCU units; Sime CDR couplings; SCR scoop controlled couplings; and GST scoop trimming couplings. Internationally, Voith Fluidrive couplings have proved their reliability under the toughest conditions for over 75 years in the mining, material handling, power generation, cement and oil and gas industries. There is a very large installed base worldwide, especially in South Africa, Australia and the UK.
“Our highly qualified team of technicians can service, maintain, overhaul, conduct operational tests and supply spares,” says Crouwkamp. “All repairs are done to the original manufacturers’ specification and tested on our test rig.” He adds that Voith’s professional services extend to onsite work such as troubleshooting and laser alignment.
“The combination of Fluidrive, Sime and Voith offers customers access to a greater knowledge and technology pool as well as a larger, improved global and local equipment service and sales infrastructure,” he concludes.
