Fluxus ADM 5107 for the water utilities sector

October 2013 Flow Measurement & Control

The Fluxus ADM 5107 is Flexim’s solution for flowmetering applications found in the water and wastewater industry. As Flexim’s basic and economic alternative, the ADM 5107 offers the same benefits in terms of accuracy and reliability as the more powerful ADM 7407 and 8027.

It offers precise bi-directional flow measurement over a wide turndown ratio at both high and low flow velocities. Its matched transducer pairs offer superior zero stability and accuracy when coupled with the superior measurement algorithms embedded in the flow computer. With its water-tight IP67 housing, it is suitable for outdoor drinking pipelines or similar applications and is virtually maintenance-free.

Fluxus ADM 5107 also offers leak detection capability when placed as multiple measurement points on one pipeline. Particularly at night, when lower temperatures and flow velocities are experienced, leakages can clearly be easily identified and reported to the process control system.

The ideal retrofit solution for water pipes

As a non-intrusive clamp on flowmeter the unit is ideal for retrofit to existing networks, there is no interruption of supply as neither cutting nor welding work is needed to mount the transducers. During installation, the user interface is automatically adapted to the transducers and no zeroing is necessary, water is already pre-selected as medium and its physical properties are stored in device memory.

In most cases only the pipe’s outer diameter and wall thickness as well as the water temperature has to be entered in order to start the measurement. Commissioning work is thus reduced to a minimum, and, on request, the instrument can even be pre-configured at the factory.

Typical applications include:

* Flow measurement in water and wastewater lines.

* Hygienic measurement for drinking water applications.

* Leak detection in water lines.

* Volumetric flow measurement at hydro-electric power plants.

* Flow measurement of water and water mixtures within the processing and manufacturing industries.
