Moxa has released its IEX series, the latest product line of industrial managed DSL Ethernet extenders. The new line includes the IEX-402-SHDSL and the IEX-402-VDSL2 series, providing point-to-point Ethernet extension using G.SHDSL or VDSL2 across existing copper wires. With automatic CO/CPE configuration, link fault pass-through (LFP), visualised management, and link quality LED indicators, the IEX series benefits industrial network deployment, management, and maintenance.
Extend Ethernet with cost-effective deployment
“The IEX series are innovative solutions that enable cost-effective long distance network transmissions over DSL technology,” says Moxa product manager, Eleanor Huang. “With the IEX series, network communication can be extended by leveraging existing copper wire infrastructures and eliminating substantial cable and installation costs.” Compliant with G.SHDSL and VDSL2 standards, the IEX-402-SHDSL series supports long distance transmission of up to eight kilometres, while the IEX-402-VDSL2 series fulfils high bandwidth requirements of up to 100 Mbps.
When compared to typical DSL extenders, the IEX series outperforms through easy installation and manageability. The automatic CO/CPE negotiation feature simplifies configuration, eliminates the possibility of human configuration errors and reduces deployment time. LFP technology is also available to prevent data loss. Remote management is easy through Moxa’s MXview network management software and virtual panel of the web UI and quick on-site troubleshooting is possible via the link quality LED indicators.
