Global demand for energy is increasing with electricity consumption growing disproportionately as a result of the demands of industrial and domestic systems. “Solar power for typical residential applications delivers up to 10 kW and solutions are available to provide up to 100 kW for offices and commercial buildings, as well as for off grid or backup power requirements. According to statistics, each year about 50 square kilometres of new roof space becomes available for photovoltaic energy solutions. With large-scale applications, Schneider Electric is able to provide the complete electrical chain between the PV modules and the grid connection. Services include real-time monitoring, advanced automation, power conversion and security.
Kleynhans says the customised solutions are designed to ensure 97% power availability over 20 years. “This translates into greater energy efficiency and improved revenues for user companies because modular solutions reduce costs.”
