Schneider Electric has secured purchase orders totalling R101 million from First Quantum Minerals’ Kansanshi smelter project and the Sentinel Greenfields project in Zambia. The Kansanshi site is located 15 km north of the town of Solwezi and the Sentinel site is approximately 150 km west of the town.
The scope includes 16 33 kV F400 panels, 26 33 kV DFN7 panels, 169 MCSet panels as well as 27 Motorpact panels and 35 Altivar 1200 medium voltage variable speed drives.
Schneider Electric South Africa, in strong collaboration with Schneider Electric Australia, provided detailed and comprehensive medium voltage electrical solutions with the emphasis on competitive pricing and meeting the project delivery time expectations.
In addition, Schneider Electric’s focus on safety and reliability are key to the sustainable mining operations required by First Quantum Minerals in Zambia.
