No more condensate in the air lines

Standard air driers do not always indicate the dryness quality of the compressed air entering a factory airline. Most normal driers only give the physical temperature of the compressed air in the main heat exchanger, or at the suction side of the system (cold gas stream) returning to the refrigeration compressor. Should the automatic drain cease to function for any reason, the water vapour entrained by the air compressor is condensed into a liquid but not ejected as waste.

Condensate generated in this manner can flood the system quickly. To remove the water from the lines takes energetic drainage, which wastes compressed and relies on dry air to absorb the water vapour and carry it out via drain purge lines. In a typical system, it can take a significant amount of time before a consistent dew point can be re-established.

Solution

A DS52 dew point monitor is an easy fix for this problem. It monitors the actual air dryness in the line in parts per million, degrees C or F, g/kg, as well as grams per cubic metre. All these options are selectable, as well as an alarm set point, via the fascia panel. In the event of a drain failure the dew point meter registers the wet air and may sound a siren or activate a flashing strobe light or even send an SMS. 4-20 mA outputs and two volt free contacts are fitted as standard. By fitting this plug and play system faults can be detected almost immediately, preventing contamination of the air lines and subsequent disruption on the plant.

Finally, the wastewater generated in the air drier filters and receivers can be easily separated by the Sepura oily waste water management system. Allowing only clean wastewater legally into the drains avoids environmental pollution and the substantial associated fines.
