The JBC dynamic inclination sensor from ifm offers an innovative solution for accurate angle measurement, even in the event of disturbances such as a vehicle starting or braking, vibrations and shocks. The device detects acceleration and rotation in three dimensions, as well as temperature data. By filtering out motion disturbances, the Kalman filter ensures accurate inclination values, even in the most dynamic applications.
The filtered data is output either via IO-Link or via two switch points. In addition, all raw data, including the temperature, can be read out separately. Basic sensor settings are also made via IO-Link. Once installed, the angle value can be easily set to zero using the inductive teach face without the need for additional software.
The sensor’s lightweight and compact plastic housing allows for easy installation, even where space is limited. Despite its small size, the sensor is robust enough to withstand external influences. It attaches with only two screws, simplifying installation and providing a stable, vibration-free mount. A highly visible LED clearly indicates the current status of the sensor.
In many applications, inclination sensors are subject to fast movements, abrupt impacts or vibration in three dimensions. Selecting a sensor suitable for such applications is extremely important. Where sensors based on the static measurement principle reach their limits, inclination sensors based on the dynamic measurement principle are used.

Editor's Choice Sensors & Transducers
South Africa’s engineers operate at the intersection of resource constraint and industrial ambition. Few parameters illustrate this balancing act as clearly as water quality. Whether in municipal treatment works, food and beverage plants or mining operations, the ability to measure water quality accurately and continuously has become non-negotiable.
