The new AX1000 from Beckhoff is a highly optimised servo drive that is fully integrated into the TwinCAT system. Despite its extremely compact design, it offers features that are similar to those of the larger drives of the AX series.
It offers an economical solution, without compromising on the highest technological standards. It is available in two different versions: one for the low-power range with a single-phase supply of 1 x 230 V AC, and one for the higher power range with a three-phase supply of 3 x 400 V AC, for currents ranging from 1,65 to 6,9 A.
Despite its compact dimensions, the AX1000 still manages to incorporate an integrated control power supply, DC link capacitors, a ballast circuit, and – in most variants – a ballast resistor. The control voltage is generated by the integrated power supply from the DC link. Both models are available as single-axis and dual-axis modules. Supported motor types include the AM8000 synchronous servomotors with One Cable Technology (OCT), in addition to asynchronous and reluctance motors, with or without feedback.
The AX1000 servo drive is fully integrated into the TwinCAT system via EtherCAT, providing the familiar convenience for commissioning, operation and diagnostics. All tools available for the larger AX5000 and AX8000 drives, such as TwinCAT Drive Manager 2, Autotuning, Bode Plot and cogging compensation, can also be used with the AX1000 servo drive.
