Groundbreaking measurement system

March 2025 Level Measurement & Control

Marking a significant milestone, Berthold Technologies has launched the LoopSeries LB 430, an innovative, industry-leading measurement system designed to enhance operational efficiency with advanced level, density, and level switch capabilities.

The official unveiling took place through an exciting video premiere on YouTube, offering customers an exclusive first look at the cutting-edge features of the LB 430. Hosted on Berthold’s dedicated landing page at www.berthold.com/world-premiere, the video showcased the full potential of the LoopSeries LB 430, which is designed to revolutionise measurement systems across multiple industries.

The launch campaign was complemented by a series of LinkedIn posts that generated great excitement and engagement leading up to the event. Mecosa appreciates the support of all who liked and shared these posts, helping to spread the word about this groundbreaking product.

Key features of the LoopSeries LB 430 include:

Autonomously powered via the 4-20 mA current loop: The LoopSeries LB 430 is the first measurement system on the market to be powered solely by the current loop, eliminating the need for additional field wiring.

Silicon Photomultiplier (SiPM) Technology: The LB 430 integrates innovative SiPM technology, delivering unmatched precision and reliability in measurement applications.

Hardware and software enhancements: In addition to powerful hardware, the LB 430 features an intuitive software interface, allowing for seamless operation in level and density applications, with integrated switch functionality.

Versatile configuration options: The LB 430 is available in both non-Ex and ATEX-certified models, with flameproof or intrinsically safe versions. Customers can choose between aluminium or stainless steel (316L) housing and a variety of cable entry options.

Berthold has prepared a full range of marketing materials, including whitepapers, brochures and data sheets, which are now accessible on their newly redesigned homepage. Notably, an in-depth whitepaper on SiPM technology is available to help customers understand its benefits and applications in the LB 430.

The LoopSeries LB 430 point detector variant, featuring a 50 x 50 mm NaI crystal, is now also available. In early 2025, they will introduce a detachable field display, adding further versatility to the product. Additionally, a water-cooling system will be available for use in high-temperature environments above 60°C. Mecosa is incredibly proud of the dedication and innovation that went into developing the LB 430. This product represents a significant technological achievement and reinforces Berthold Technologies’ commitment to providing groundbreaking solutions for the measurement industry.

As a global technology leader in the field of radiometric measurement systems, Berthold Technologies has been providing high-quality measuring systems for industry and research for over 75 years. The company’s high-precision solutions have a variety of applications in a wide range of industries.
