In the case of many faults it is not the pump motor that gets lost, but rather the pump itself. Destruction of pumps is often caused by cavitation or dry running conditions which standard overload protection relays simply do not detect.
NewElec’s KA, KB and KC range of electronic motor protection and control relays provide a single unit solution for low voltage pumping applications. The relays provide dry run, overload, single-phasing, unbalanced current, overvoltage, undervoltage and phase rotation protection.
In addition, the KA, KB and KC relays provide voltage phase symmetry, latched LED trip indication and a user-selectable auto reset. Protection is also provided against locked rotor or jam conditions.
The relays are available in the range from 0,5 A to 25 A directly through an integrated current transformer module block. KA, KB and KC relays are also offered in the range from 50 A to 200 A using external interposing current transformers 50:5, 100:5 or 200:5 respectively.
