Flow Measurement & Control

Process Expo 2009 preview: Mecosa - Stands H10, G8 and G9

May 2009 Flow Measurement & Control

Mecosa will be displaying products from Knick and M&W Instruments at the Expo, including:

Stratos Pro

According to a NAMUR study, operating errors lead to more downtime in modern transmitters than hardware defects, malfunctions or measuring errors. The Stratos Pro transmitter from Knick, which measures pH, redox potential (ORP), conductivity, toroidal conductivity and oxygen concentration values, eliminates this drawback thanks to a completely new, colour-based operating concept, ensuring intuitive operation. Its widescreen display indicates operating modes in six different colours. The standard measuring mode, for example, has a white backlight, while displays in the information mode are displayed in green. The diagnosis menu, maintenance requirements and the HOLD mode are also indicated by specific colours. The alarm status was assigned a deep shade of red, and invalid input and wrong pass numbers are signalised through a flashing red display. Additionally, concise, self-explanatory pictograms facilitate operation.

SensoGate

The pneumatically operated SensoGate WA 130H from Knick is a modular sensor lock-gate with European Hygienic Engineering & Design Group (EHEDG) certification for its process side and calibration chamber. This makes the SensoGate WA 130H fully suitable for use in pharma, food and other applications requiring FDA validation. Certification has been achieved by adding new features to the calibration chamber, seals and process connection. The company says SensoGate WA 130H is the only sensor lock-gate to fulfil a key requirement for hygienic operation by sealing itself off from the process during operation. The large immersion depths offered (32 mm and 57 mm) allows the lock-gate to be installed directly onto the tank wall via a wide variety of connection types and sizes.

Mass-Stream

Based on a simple and robust through-flow design, the Mass-Stream series from M+W Instruments GmbH presents no obstructions to the flow path, has no moving parts and features very low-to-ultra low pressure drop across the instrument. These features make the Mass-Stream ideal for the mass flow measurement of dirty gases, wet gases and even a combination of the two. Furthermore, the minimal pressure drop prevents harmful liquid drop-out from condensing gases, thereby eliminating internal corrosion and increasing instrument life.
