Workshop on practical industrial networking for engineers and technicians
May 2000

IDC Tecnologies
The challenge for engineers, technicians and scientists today is to use proven networking technology such as Ethernet to transfer information efficiently within a control and instrumentation system or the office environment. This system must be correctly specified, designed and implemented to ensure optimum throughput of data and yet be cost-effective.
The workshop, run by IDC Technologies, is designed to benefit instrumentation and control engineers, scientists and technicians who are involved in specifying, commissioning and debugging Ethernet and related systems in the instrumentation and control environment but who have little experience of these systems. The workshop also gives significant review of office type systems. It has been structured to cover the main concepts of local area networks and Ethernet and their applications in a modern automation, control and office systems environment.
The course is a comprehensive two-day practical workshop that covers the main concepts and design requirements for local area network systems. This workshop equips users with the tools to analyse, specify and debug local area networks systems in the automation, instrumentation and control and office environments.
The comprehensive workshop manual provides an excellent reference for course delegates at the conclusion of the workshop. Most of the information contained in the manual is unique and has been put together using IDC’s engineers’ extensive experience in this field.
The workshop has received excellent reviews overseas and attendance is expected to be high. IDC is offering a 5% early bird discount for all bookings received by 9 June 2000.
