Following the successful installation and commissioning of 40 GLI turbidity monitors in Rand Water's Vereeniging Water Works No. 2 Filter Bank, Rand Water have ordered a further 72 GLI Turbidity Monitors from PREI Instrumentation, for No. 3 Filter Bank. These turbidity monitor orders demonstrate Rand Water's continuing commitment to supplying its customers with good quality water. Particular features of the GLI unit which contributed to these orders are:
* Use of the latest four-beam infrared technology to continuously monitor turbidity, as approved by the United States EPA (GLI Method 2) and which complies with the International Standard for Turbidity Measurement (ISO 7027-1984(E)).
* Exceptional accuracy and measurement stability at the low levels of turbidity required for quality drinking water. (Automatic electronic zero calibration once every minute).
* The unique calibration cube provides a factory-certified, 100% reproducible NTU value. The CalCube is a stable secondary standard which is not affected by light, temperature or ageing which allows for quick and easy maintenance and calibration verification by semi-skilled staff (as opposed to employing expensive highly skilled staff).
