Meriam Instrument's 2100 Smart Gauges are microprocessor-based pressure sensing devices that can be used to measure pressure, differential pressure (air or gas flow), or hydrostatic level. Available from Protea Automation Solutions, there are three models in the series, the 2110P for pressure measurement, the 2110L for level, and the 2110F for gas flow. All three share the same hardware, but have different software programmes based on the function.

For pressure applications the 2100 has two distinct advantages over mechanical gauges. Firstly, the actual switching point can be precisely set, a user can 'see' the set point without having to make trial and error adjustments. Secondly, it reduces excessive dead band or hystereses - a common complaint about mechanical gauges. The dead band in the 2100 is user selectable for exact control.

The instrument is CSA approved for intrinsically safe applications, and NIST certificates supplied with every model. Readings are displayed on a 15, 24 mm high, backlit digital display.

The Absolute models provide resolution to 0,1 mm Hg. Vacuum units have 0,001" Hg resolution over the entire vacuum range. The combination of resolution, 0,05% full-scale accuracy, built-in RS232 interface, and competitive pricing make this series suitable for laboratories and process applications.
