Danfoss celebrates 10 fruitful years in SA
February 2003
News
Danfoss South Africa, the local representative of the global industrial group Danfoss A/S, recently celebrated its 10th year in South Africa. While the local company's doors were opened in 1992 by Peter Petersen, Danfoss products have been available in South Africa, through a local distributor, since 1949.
The Danfoss Group is known across the globe as a manufacturer and distributor of refrigeration, airconditioning, motion controls and flow, and hydraulic solutions, with the local subsidiary ranking among the major suppliers to the South African market.
The local company began life in a small office in Edenvale, relocating to larger premises in Jet Park by 1994 and opening a second office in Cape Town in 1996. This growth accelerated in 1996 with the acquisition of a number of wholesaler operations, culminating with the acquisition of Friga Systems in 1999.
Given the company's growth and reputation, it is apparent that it has lived up to its vision of being a leader within its core business, as a highly respected company, which improves quality of life by mastering advanced technologies in customer applications, while creating value for all stakeholders. The anniversary was celebrated with a function on the Danfoss premises, attended by the Danish Ambassador to South Africa, Torben Brylle, amongst others.
