Sensors with constant correction factor

A new range of electromagnetic field immune sensors with a constant correction factor has been introduced by IFM Electronic for use in the automotive and other industries. The new inductive proximity switches have the same sensing range when used on steel, aluminium, copper or other non-ferrous metals.
Due to their special coil structure, the inductive proximity switches are insensitive to interfering magnetic fields, making them an ideal choice for use in AC/DC and medium-frequency welding. To prevent weld slag from adhering to the housing, their surface is Teflon coated.
Various types cover M12, M18 and M30 through to the rectangular design of the IMC with a sensing face that can be rotated in five different positions. Available as three- and four-wire PNP types, with single or complementary outputs, the sensors operate on 10 to 30 V d.c. 200 mA or 250 mA and have a sensing range from 2 to 35 mm. Both switching and operational status are indicated by LEDs and connection is via the M12 connector. Meeting IP 67 protection, they have an operating temperature range from -25 to 80°C.
