Optical safety barrier for dangerous machines

Reer's Minerva MN photoelectric safety barrier is designed for accident prevention protection of workers exposed to risks arising from the use of dangerous machines. Used in conjunction with the AU S-TWIN or the AU-S3M2 control unit, it represents a type-2 optoelectronic safety system designed in compliance with EN 61496-1 and IEC 61496 1-2.

The safety system consists of an emitter, receiver and a control unit. Operating on 24 V d.c. ±20%, the safety barrier has a maximum scanning range of 8 m, a 7 ms response time and LEDs indicate correct alignment and fault diagnosis.

Meeting IP65 requirements, the system offers a choice of using up to four beams, and connection to the emitter and receiver is via the M12 four-pin connector, and by way of terminal blocks for the control unit.
