The One-Series family of 2-wire electronic pressure switches comprises a programmable pressure switch that provides a cost-effective solution for many applications that require both a switching and programmable information function, with feedback. The one single unit eliminates the need for a separate pressure transmitter. Available from Protea Automation Solutions, the series is all solid-state, with no moving parts, and suitable for Class 1, Division 1 and Zone 0 applications.
IAW (I Am Working) diagnostics in the series provide a 'live zero' analogous to the transmitter's 4-20 mA signal. The solid-state switch handles 12-30 V d.c. at 40 mA, and is designed for the discrete input to a PLC, DCS or low DC load. Both alarm and shutdown conditions are monitored and indicated. The switch typically reacts to process changes within 50 ms.
Settings can be programmed, adjustments made and status determined, all read on a large easy-to-read built-in digital display, There is a 100% adjustable set point, deadband and switch mode to compensate for process variations. The adjustments can be made without removing the instrument from the process, and no rewiring is required. A built-in memory captures and stores the maximum and minimum vales sensed and the offset and the factory calibration can be customised to match other instruments measuring the same process. Normal operation and all settings are restored in the event of a power failure.
