Purchasers of M-housing-sensors to benefit from Wenglor visit

October 2002 News

Managing director of ASSTech Process Electronics & Instrumentation, Anastas Schnippenkötter, visited, and spent several days at Wenglor in Tettnang, in the south of Germany.

Negotiations between ASSTech and Wenglor achieved a major success for customers in South Africa with regard to the introduction of a selected range of 'teach-in' opto-electronic sensors in the M-style housing. ASSTech and Wenglor have committed themselves to ensuring a substantial minimum stock level at ASSTech's premises in Randburg for the selected range, and most importantly the prices have been significantly improved. Accessories prices, such as the cables, mounting brackets and reflectors, have also been adjusted to fall in line with the sensors.

The M-style housing is the sub-miniature type, with 54,5 x 27 x 16 mm dimensions and the standard M12 cable connector - the picture shows these sensors in operation.

The units that will be available off-the-shelf are:

* LM89PCT2 6000 mm retro-reflex sensors.

* TM11PCT2 100 mm diffuse-reflex sensors.

* TM55PCT2 500 mm diffuse-reflex sensors.

* HM24PCT2 150 mm diffuse-reflex sensors with background suppression.

Wenglor, the second largest manufacturer of opto-electronic sensors in Germany provides an extensive range of opto-electronic, laser and inductive sensors in many housing versions and variations for thousands of applications. They also include specialised sensors such as the print-mark sensors, gloss sensors and high-resolution laser displacement units and many more.
