OEN Enterprises awarded Marconi distribution contract
August 2002
News
Marconi Applied Technologies has this month (July 2002) announced OEN Enterprises as its new distributor covering the dynamic South African and Sub-Saharan markets.
Marconi Applied Technologies have been searching for a quality, value-adding company to take over the territory since the previous representation agreement fell away in early 2002. Identifying OEN Enterprises as an ideal partner the contract was awarded on 1 July 2002.
Global distribution manager for Marconi Applied Technologies, Andrew Burns, remarked: "Our new distribution agreement with OEN will go a long way to reinforcing and expanding our presence in South Africa. OEN will provide the market with one clear route through which to buy our products and I am sure they will add tremendous value to that process. I look forward to taking this exciting business forward with our new partnership."
Marconi Applied Technologies, part of Marconi PLC, is a key technology innovator and market leader in RF microwave, sensing, imaging components and subsystems for the industrial, medical, scientific and broadcast communications market sectors. The company has operations in the UK, USA, Germany and France, and has established a network of agents and distributors covering the Americas, Europe, Middle East and Africa, Far East and Australia.
The Applied Technologies product range covers such diverse, high technology areas and includes thermal imaging cameras, CCDs (charged couple devices), CCD cameras, gas sensors, inductive output tubes (IOTs), klystrons, high power amplifiers for satellite communications purposes, magnetrons, diodes, oscillators, radio evacuation and distress systems, spark gaps, thyratrons, TPUs, triodes and tetrodes. This new acquisition, together with its existing product range, places OEN as a leading specialist supplier in the local marketplace.
