The ADAM-4000 remote DA&C system from Advantech offers a comprehensive product range, which integrates HMI platforms and numerous I/O modules such as DI/O, AI/O, relay and counter modules.

Various communication modes are available for data transfer including wireless, RS485, fibre optic and CAN. Data transfer can be uploaded to HMI-platforms via a safe Ethernet channel for monitoring and control applications without extra hardware costs. If data transfer is subject to longer distance or geographical limitation, users can adopt the Advantech wireless communication solution.

Data can be sent from remote sensors and commands received from a host computer via an ADAM-4550. This 2,4 GHz radio modem with both RS232 and RS485 interface ports offers data transmission rates up to 115,2 Kbps and transmission distances to 170 m using the standard antenna. Ranges up to 10 km can be achieved using optional antennas. All ADAM 4000 modules use optical isolators to prevent ground loop problems and to limit damage from power surges.
