Small, waterproof and dustproof, the MicroLog is convenient for environmental monitoring of food, medical supplies and industrial chemicals, whether in transport, storage or in use.
Temperature and humidity are measured by the MicroLog's built-in sensors. It also accepts an external sensor to record a third parameter. These values are displayed and logged for downloading via an infrared channel to a PC or portable printer.
Self-powered, the MicroLog has a memory capacity of 16 000 samples with a user-defined sample interval of 10 s to 2 h. The MicroLog is bundled with software for displaying the data and exporting it in spreadsheet format.
An interesting new development is a wireless data logging system - the MicroLog has a cradle which incorporates a radio transmitter. A central PC with a radio receiver communicates with up to 200 MicroLogs over a range of 75 to 300 m, depending on the environment. The PC records measurements from the MicroLogs in realtime and also allows graphical display and storing of the data in spreadsheet format.
