Narrow safety relay with reliable separation

February 2002 Operator Interfaces, Switches & Relays

The new safety relays from Phoenix Contact in the ME 22.5 modular electronics housing are equipped with two release current paths and one signal current path which are designed with reinforced insulation from each other. When an insulation fault occurs, which may not be excluded with single fault consideration, the safety relays offer protection for all applications.

The safety circuit is controlled with one or two channels with or without cross-circuit detection. All connections are pluggable and coded and therefore offer wiring convenience and reliability.

The modules meet the requirements of the standard EN 954-1 Category 4 and can be used for the Stop Category 0 in accordance with EN 60204. With their compact, space-saving design, they are particularly well suited for emergency-stop applications, guard-door monitoring, two-hand circuits and safety light barriers.
