Boiler feedwater valves feature cavitation control
September 2000
Valves, Actuators & Pump Control
Mitech has released details of a new range of boiler feedwater valves specially designed for the pulp and paper industry. The high-pressure valves control the boiler feedwater into existing boilers. The main valve has a special trim featuring Mitech's ZZ design at low openings and cavitation control at large openings.
Mitech's ZZ mechanism is designed to eliminate cavitation during start-up, while the cavitation control design handles the normal running conditions. Mitech says that the valve's Tri-linear characteristic provides good control during start-up without the need for sacrificial bypass valves installed in parallel. The minimum flow recirculation valve also utilises the ZZ design to eliminate cavitation. All valves are rated to ANSI # 1500 and feature butt-weld ends.
