Telemecanique patent and design rights infringement

Schneider Electric South Africa, together with its French parent company Schneider Electric Industries SA, are preparing to launch legal proceedings for an interdict to prevent what it considers to be unlawful competition by AC/DC Dynamics CC and infringement of its registered patent and design rights concerning Telemecanique's D2 contactors.

AC/DC Dynamics CC is distributing contactors in South Africa that Schneider Electric considers to be copies of its Telemecanique D2 contactors, made in India. The High Court of South Africa will determine whether those products are infringing items.
