To keep interested parties up to date with the latest technologies, IDC Technologies will be running 'hands-on' workshops:
Practical power distribution
Durban: 29 and 30 November 2001
Cape Town: 3 and 4 December 2001
This two-day workshop focuses on medium voltage (1-36 kV) power considerations, switchgear, power cables, transformers, power factor correction, grounding/earthing, lightning protection and network studies. Attendees will gain technical know-how in areas not covered by university or college programmes. The workshop uses practical sessions to reinforce understanding of each section and includes a computer simulation software demonstration to design and/or troubleshoot electrical power networks.

Cape Town: 10 and 11 December 2001
This two-day workshop is designed to demystify the subject of earthing and presents the subject in a clear, straightforward manner. It offers fresh, practical applications of principles to enable attendees to reduce expensive downtime on their plants and equipment.
This workshop includes practical examples, case studies and four practical sessions.
