Phoenix Contact has recently opened its new Customer Information Centre in Randburg. In January this year, Phoenix Contact in South Africa became a wholly owned subsidiary of Phoenix Contact GmbH & Co, in line with its strategy to own its distribution network worldwide. (The last 12 months have also seen the company open subsidiaries in Argentina, Mexico and Russia.)
Phoenix Contact's strategy in South Africa is one of growth. The company has purchased new and larger offices in Pinetown and is setting up a product management team to support sales staff and customers with technical support on various ranges of products. The company's new Customer Information Centre is a part of this growth strategy.
The Customer Information Centre is a self-contained customer centre with products on display, two meeting rooms with access to sample product boards and white boards for discussion, a video conference facility linked to the head office in Blomberg and a multimedia presentation and training facility for launches of new products and systems. A comfortable coffee counter completes a relaxed and modern working environment.
