ABB has introduced the LLT100 laser level transmitter, its new standard for laser level measurement. This new instrument provides continuous, non-contact level measurement of any solids or liquids, even clear liquids to meet the demands of process automation and inventory management in industries such as oil and gas, mining, aggregates, chemicals, food and beverages, power, pulp and paper, pharma and water and wastewater.
The LLT100 is a maintenance-free instrument that measures the storage level of any material, independent of its properties or conditions. Solid material is detectable up to 100 m and liquids up to 30 m. Positioning applications, where the position of a tripper car is precisely measured for instance, can be done at distances up to 200 m.
With its narrow beam, the LLT100 can avoid obstructions and be installed near vessel walls either in tanks or silos with mixing blades, grids or obstructions. It measures continuously and provides a rapid surface change tracking. Moreover, the advanced signal processing function prevents the impact of falling material or splashing on measurement precision as well as giving reliable measurement results in dusty, foggy, narrow and mixing environments.
The LLT100 embodies the ABB “Measurement made easy” design philosophy by providing one versatile device for even more applications than before. Easy to configure, fast installation, powered from the loop and HART communication, all make it convenient to use. It comes with an industrial IP67/Nema4x and approved for hazardous areas (class 1/division 1 (zone 1)) for use in challenging industrial environments.
