IS Barrier completes WIKA’s range of intrinsically safe products

April 2016 IS & Ex

The isolated barrier model IS Barrier completes WIKA’s range of intrinsically safe products. It is suitable for installation in zone 2 and is compatible with all corresponding transmitters from WIKA.

It provides galvanic isolation between the Ex and non-Ex areas. The model IS Barrier supplies sensors on two-or four-wire systems and also supports transmission of the HART protocol. The current output can be operated actively or passively and functional safety is approved for SIL 2 applications.

This device completes WIKA’s ‘Ex i’ offering: in addition to the sensor and barrier, it includes the matching cables and a form for the verification of intrinsic safety.
