The MB motor protection relay from NewElec allows maintenance personnel to take advantage of 1600 recorded events and 45 recorded faults to analyse problem areas. The relay features seven inputs that accept voltages from 24 to 220 VAC or DC and four fully programmable potential free contacts. Every input and output is linked to a visual LED display showing the corresponding high or low state. A dedicated control panel mounted coloured LED continuously indicates the relay address.
Six function blocks are available, each accommodating three variables with a choice of settings. Each function block allows for ‘and’, ‘or’, ‘nor’ functionality, and they can be linked to one another. The relay includes counters, pulse generators, flashers, comparators and a multitude of starter logic configurations. The free issue software is user-friendly. As the relay is designed for fieldbus communications to PLCs, it can accommodate Profibus, Canbus and Modbus communications protocols. The MB also includes RTD inputs for PTC and PT 100 type thermistors.
The relay is equipped with USB and infrared capability, and in the event of a failure, a backup memory module that plugs into the relay may be used to program the replacement, including all settings and addresses.
