It is often necessary for production departments to establish the extent of real work performed during a shift or period of time. The fact that a particular motor was running during a certain period does not necessarily mean that work was being done.
In this situation the NewCode motor protection and control relay provides the production manager with a clear picture of how a machine was loaded during a specific time. The production manager simply utilises the free NewElec software to read the ‘statistic’ page of the NewCode relay that will provide him with the necessary information such as: % time the motor ran on load; % time the motor ran un-loaded; and % time the motor stood idle.
These statistics can provide overall situation awareness with regards to production time utilisation and can go a long way in identifying sources of difficulty.
