New pluggable relay with high switching capacity

Relays and optocouplers provide interference-free and nonreactive signal transmissions in industrial automation concepts. They make it possible to construct defined interfaces, reliably isolating input and output circuits. Moreover they can be used either for switching or as switching amplifiers.

The new PRS and PRZ relay/optocouplers available from Weidmüller are designed with screw (clamping yoke) or tension clamp, which will allow a reduction in wiring time. Both relay/optocouplers are simply plugged into the robustly designed base. Clamping and dismounting clamps guarantee reliable connection and, in the case of maintenance, fast disconnection. The new coupler is part of the 'Plugseries', which is distinguished as an economical and fully developed product range.

The PRS and PRZ couplers operate on the input side with a nominal voltage from 12-115 V d.c. 120/230 V a.c. Weidmüller delivers the complete module with one or two changeover contacts and a nominal switching current of 16 A. As a standard, a pluggable LED indicator with a free wheeling diode is offered. All components are finger-touch safe.

Plugseries fulfil all market requirements. They guarantee safe isolation between the coil and contacts, even if a fault occurs. The inputs and outputs have the required isolating distances. A creepage distance and clearance of >8 mm is guaranteed. The input potential as well as the root contact can be bridged by the ZQV external bridge pieces.

Both PRS and PRZ relay / optocouplers have the same dimensions (15,2 x 91 x 85 mm L/W/H) and can be mounted onto TS35 mounting rail. RAD Interface delivers user-friendly relay bases, pluggable LED modules, clamping yokes and relays as accessories.
