OMSA to supply turnkey project to Kyrgyz Republic gold mine

September 2014 News

OMSA is to supply mill lubrication systems including MCCs and PLCs for the mills at mining operations in Kyrgyzstan.

The company has contracted the expertise of DRA Global, an organisation with vast experience on mill control systems, system refurbishment and the OMSA lubrication systems, to provide the MCCs and control solutions.

Honsberg oil flow/pressure instruments will be supplied with the lubrication systems that are being shipped in 15 metre containers that will be modified onsite to enable them to form the control rooms for the lubrication systems. The remainder of the containers will be formed into a warehouse for spares and tooling.

The biggest challenges OMSA faces for this project are the altitude (4000 m) and ambient temperatures that can reach -50°C in winter. Some unique design techniques will be required to ensure efficient and reliable system operation.

“We have an excellent reputation of providing solutions across many sectors of industry and are particularly pleased to be able to enter the Asian mining sector where we look forward to an ongoing relationship with DRA Global and Kyrgyzstan. Most mining operations were established in the 1970s and will soon be looking at equipment upgrades. We at OMSA believe we are well positioned to becoming the preferred supplier of quality mill lubrication systems in addition to our offering of professional technical support,” said OMSA’s Jan Grobler.
