East Coast Roadshow development

October 2001 Training & Education

Since the first focused Control and Instrumentation Roadshow in 1999 in Port Elizabeth, the support for the shows has grown consistently. Clearly, there has been a need for some time now for an industry-specific showcase of industrial automation products. This year the show was extended to include East London as a second stop, which created the opportunity for 24 national suppliers to display their products to a market very seldom, if ever, reached by such a representative exhibition.

On 28 and 30 August, the Control Roadshow visited these areas with a comprehensive display of equipment to present the current state of technology to all levels of the industrial automation community. Withstanding the effects of the motor industry workers unions the two shows still proved to be extremely beneficial to both exhibitor and visitors creating a substantial platform for future business networking in these focused industry sectors.

In Port Elizabeth the exhibition comprised of twenty-eight control and instrumentation specialist supply companies, and the two one-day shows attracted well over 300 qualified end-users. The continued effectiveness of these East Coast shows has emphasised the need to include this area as a regular calendar event in future years.
