OMSA supplies filters to Bloemfontein water supplier
June 2014
News
The need for water supplies to be efficiently managed and operated has never been as important as currently in the light of the amount of contaminated water reports being lodged with municipalities or water management suppliers.
New feed water supply pump systems have recently been installed in Bloemfontein’s local water supplier’s facilities with Mahle water filtration systems from OMSA included in the water quality processes. The automated filters are used to prime and lubricate the water feed pumps. A back-flush self-cleaning mechanism ensures that the water that is supplied is clean and eradicates the risk of contamination, which may damage the water pump mechanicals.
Xen Papastamopoulos, technical manager at OMSA commented, “We were very pleased to receive the order for a duplex water filtration system – one duty and one stand-by unit – to replace the existing bulk sand filter system. The efficiencies that water operators can achieve by using these Mahle fully automated filtration systems are enormous. They require less maintenance, have the latest technology and are more compact”.
