The new RI360 incremental encoder from Turck is completely non-contact and has no bearings, making it absolutely wear-free. The inductive universal encoder offers high resolution and is immune to magnetic fields. Thanks to its high degree of protection (IP69K) and 18-bit resolution, machine downtime and maintenance resulting from encoder wear are a thing of the past, even in high precision and high-speed applications.
The mounting concept of the encoder also extends its application range. Adaptor rings enable the unit to be used on shafts that are anywhere between 6 and 20 mm in diameter. The user can also program the number of pulses per revolution, directly on the decoder – 360, 512, 1000, 1024, 2048, 2500, 3600, 4096 and 5000 pulses per revolution are available as standard. Other pulse rates can be achieved with the use of Pactware or IOLink software.
Supply voltage is 10-30 VDC and the output is push-pull offering A, A-, B, B- and Z. The zero point is freely programmable and the encoder has a maximum output frequency of 200 kHz. Two status LEDs indicate operating functions and the electrical connection is made with the popular 8 pin M12 Euro plug system.
