When it comes to safety, there is no substitute for a dedicated safety relay and Pilz has set the standard in safety devices with a wide range to suit every situation and cover all needs. When it comes to a safety relay or device there should always be short-circuit detection and double redundant feedback. This is not only built into the Pilz safety relays, but also into a lot of the sensors as well.
Pilz has a full range of safety relays starting from the X-range, through the Sigma range, into the configurable safety relays and then on to the full safety PLCs. The configurable safety relays are extremely versatile and cost-efficient with expansion options for I/O and communication. This range of relays is called the PNOZ multi range, which covers the PNOZ multi mini, PNOZ multi and the PNOZ multi 2, the latest development in this range. The PNOZ multi 2 boasts 20 safe inputs (eight of which can be reconfigured as outputs), four safe outputs, four timed/pulsed outputs and a backlit display. The communication modules allow one the use of Ethernet, RS-232, Profibus or CANopen and the I/O modules allow expansion for larger projects.
