Unitemp appointed agency for Osram Sylvania

September 2001 News

Osram Sylvania has turned its heat to local industries with the appointment of Unitemp as its authorised distributor of process air heaters for the sub-Saharan African regions. The announcement comes in response to escalating demands for temperature-controlled process air heating solutions where intense heat and very high temperatures are required in industrial applications.

John Vetere, Product Marketing Manager of Osram Sylvania explains, "Unitemp has been a supplier of process heating and control systems since 1972, and they bring with them the experience needed to integrate our precision heating solutions. With offices in both Johannesburg and Cape Town as well as representation in neighbouring territories, Unitemp is well positioned to service the needs of our market. Unitemp is the first authorised distributor in South Africa and we look forward to a successful partnership."

Osram Sylvania, a relative of the Siemens family of companies, is a premier manufacturer of process air heaters for industrial processes that require precision hot air, such as sealing, melting, soldering, curing, bonding, drying and cutting. Their range includes very high capacity heaters for gases. "With the Osram Sylvania range of process air heaters added to our stable of specialised products, we can now satisfy any heating application", states Dieter Bütow, Marketing Manager for Unitemp, "This means that we can tackle specific and quite complex applications where air and gasses have to be heated for industrial and manufacturing processes. We can now go up to very high temperatures, high pressures and high air streams, well in excess of 800°C, if necessary."

Unitemp are also importers and distributors of a number of world-class brands including Gefran, Hotset, Testo, Elpro Technologies, Heitec Heisskanal systems, Feller Engineering, Elstein Infrared, Thermon Traceheat, Heraeus IR & UV, Polux Cables and Weco high temperature connectors. The company is committed to quality heating and process control solutions. Their professional team of consultants and engineers are able to provide the most expert advice and technical support to a broad spectrum of industries, including the packaging, electronics, plastics, automotive, textiles and food industries.
