August 2013 News

The centre is focused on showcasing both the Mitsubishi Electric and Adroit automation product ranges.

Programmable logic controllers, variable speed drives, graphic operator terminals and power meters are all coupled to Adroit’s automation software offering, including Adroit Scada, Mitsubishi Adroit Process Suite (MAPS), Alarm Management and the Adroit Scada Intelligence (ASI) products.

The interactive centre allows customers such as system integrators and other partners, to get a hands-on feel for the range and capability of both Adroit and Mitsubishi Electric’s Factory Automation products. In addition, various partners including Rittal, Moxa and FAG have all contributed to adding a real-world solution element to the systems.

The facility consists of three working panels which include a PLC, VSD, power meter and a Mitsubishi graphic operator panel. All PLCs are linked using CC-Link and all are on the Ethernet network for PLC to PC communications. Each panel also contains a bank of input switches and LEDs wired to show statuses of outputs.

These three demo plants can be used to demonstrate the functionality of each of the PLC series’, the HMI attributes as well as the project management, control and measurement, and reporting capabilities of Adroit 8.0 Scada, Adroit Alarm Management, MAPS and Adroit Scada Intelligence giving the full experience, from sensor to boardroom.

Adroit Technologies’ managing director, Dave Wibberley says, “Mitsubishi Electric Factory Automation is a global leader of automation technology and if a picture speaks a 1000 words, then having a hands-on demonstration capability allows us not only to talk-the-talk but also to walk-the-walk. We are encouraging our partners to take advantage of this investment and bring customers to us to show or demonstrate applications in practice. These demonstrations are certainly also a value-added benefit to our training programmes where hands-on demonstrations can be utilised in order to assist students to grasp the workings of the Adroit software as well as the Mitsubishi Electric hardware.”

Adroit Technologies will continue to add to the demonstration centre as new technology and products become available to ensure that customers can always keep up to date with new innovations.
