Safety switches use RFID technology to improve safety levels

The latest generation of safety switches from Comitronic-BTI use RFID technology to improve safety levels and operation modes. Used to control the position of movable guard doors on machines, they are available in standalone mode (Amxr) or non standalone modes (Xorf) in conjunction with the Awax safety module.

The switches use an industrial RFID 125 kHz technology, offering a non-cheatable and reliable solution. The RFID system allows up to 16 million different codes. Comitronic has developed an automatic self learning system to mate the transmitter to the receiver. Each transmitter will only work with its own receiver once both parts have been uniquely coded.

Because these RFID safety switches do not contain any magnets, they are also suitable for use in applications where there are metallic fillings and off cuts. The switches are also resistant to washing detergents and cutting oil. The large switching range compensates for misalignment making installation a simple task. An LED on the receiver indicates the state of the switch at all times.
