Precise manual control transmitters from PSG

February 2013 Motion Control & Drives

Introducing the new GS 40 series, FSG presents compact, ergonomic manual control transmitters suitable for use in cranes, the rail industry, ships, radio remote controls and medical technology applications. Available as one, two, or three-axis models, the joysticks are based on a contact free measuring method: measured values are recorded by means of integrated Hall sensors that register field changes of permanent magnets. The IP65 devices are therefore highly robust and qualify for use in demanding environments. Thanks to the wear-free magnetic measuring method, they are also very economic and reach a minimum lifespan of 5 million cycles. Additional features include a constant lever force and a definable, mechanically detectable pressure point for recognising the actual motion. In the X and Y axes, the manual control transmitters enable a lever operating angle up to ±25°. Models with a Z axis have a rotational range of ±60°. Suitable for temperatures between -40 and +60°C, the units can be installed from above and from below. They transmit analog control signals via a power or voltage output or digital control signals via a CANopen interface. Redundant output for safety-oriented applications according to IEC 61508 (SIL 2) standards is also possible.
