Laser M agent of the year

Laser M recently held its 'Agent of the Year Awards'. This award is presented every year to the best Laser M agent. Laser M is a South African company that has developed the use of laser technology for level control in the process industry. The company manufactures a range of products, the Lasermeter range that is used in industry for measuring and controlling level in bins and silos. Laser M has recently formed a partnership with K Tek, an American-based company, to distribute their products in the United States and throughout the rest of the world.

In the South African market Laser M distributes its products through a network of agents. These agents provide the customer with the assistance of applications, installation and programming. The agents generally focus on a specific industry or area in order to maximise the service and expertise they can provide.

Laser M has had two particularly successful agents that received awards. These are Shorrock Automation and Newco Instruments. Shorrock Automation is based at its head office in Pretoria. The company has been responsible for the majority of the laser instruments installed in the Rustenburg platinum mining area and the Phalaborwa area. Raymond Karstens, the senior technical sales person for the laser instruments, was given a weekend trip for two to Cape Town. This will include the flights, accommodation and meals at the V&A Waterfront Hotel.

Newco Instruments, headed by Jaco van der Linde, has had success with the laser instruments in the industrial sector of Johannesburg and the Vaal triangle area. He received a weekend away at the luxury hotel at Dullstroom,
