Endress+Hauser has strengthened its Coriolis flowmetering range for the oil and gas industry with the introduction of Promass O sensor. For high temperature and high pressures applications, the new 0 sensor offers outstanding robustness and reliability even in the toughest conditions.
Like any Coriolis flowmeter, Promass O operates independently of the physical fluid properties, such as viscosity and density and is suitable for hazardous area use (ATEX, FM, CSA, TIIS, IECEx, NEPSI). However, Promass O offers not only a flowrates up to 150 000 barrels per day, the tough O sensor will withstand temperatures from -40 to 200°C as well as pressures up to 258 bar. It is ideal for harsh hydrocarbon processing applications such as crude oil processing and refining as it provides reliable flow measurement even in the presence of liquids such as highly corrosive hydrogen sulphide.
Stress corrosion is a particular problem as it can lead to serious accidents and long production stoppages. Purpose-built, Promass O enables safe and highly accurate hydrocarbon flow measurement from the very start. The key to its hardiness is its materials of construction, all wetted parts are manufactured from super duplex (25Cr duplex), which is known to offer high protection against mechanical and corrosive strain. The materials fulfil all requirements in accordance with NORSOK M 630 and NACE MR I 75/MR I 03 as well as corresponding Pressure Equipment Directives such as PED Cat 1II, CRN and AD2000.
Promass O is not just tough, it is also highly accurate and boasts 0,10% o.r. as standard. However, for situations where precision measurement is paramount, our Premium Cal service offers accuracy to 0,05%.
