Rockwell Automation recently hosted a technology update seminar in the industrial hub of Lagos. As a first for Rockwell Automation and Nigeria, the company offered industry-specific solution talks to update existing and potential clients on the latest technologies in process automation. “The oil and gas and food and beverage industries are quite prominent in the Lagos region, so we tailored our presentations accordingly,” says Colin Morris, branch manager, Rockwell Automation.
Rockwell Automaton has numerous influential corporate clients in the region, spanning many provinces and that supply a large portion of Nigeria’s oil and gas and food products. “Some large clients in the food and beverage sector have recently upgraded and expanded their facilities in and around Lagos, so it was a great opportunity to inform and update industry engineers of our offerings,” explains Morris. “In conjunction with our local partner and system integrator, Intech Process Automation Nigeria, the two-day seminar focused on our process control and Integrated Architecture solutions.”
Presentations were dedicated to complete process offerings discussing integrated safety solutions, component and visualisation solutions, legacy control systems, power and energy management systems, intelligent motion control and Rockwell Automation services. Demonstrations and discussions were given with the help of Rockwell Automation’s encompass partner, ProSoft Technology and Rockwell Automation’s industry and product managers offered insight and networked with the 74 delegates who attended.
The seminar was well received with feedback indicating that the seminar created awareness of Rockwell Automation’s capabilities that participants did not think were possible, but which will be very useful at their respective plants and factories in the future. “With the continuous need to keep our markets up to date with technology, this seminar is sure to become an annual event,” concludes Morris.
