With the introduction of the new AM8000 high-performance servomotor series, Beckhoff now offers a complete automation system consisting of PC-based controllers, I/O, drives and motors. The AM8000 series encompasses six different motor sizes, each with two or three optional overall lengths, to cover the widest possible torque range. Users can select a motor suitable for universal use from a stall torque range of 0,9 to 65 Nm.
Sophisticated rotor and stator technology form the basis for the new servomotors. Among other things, modern salient pole winding technology is used which enables a higher slot fill factor in the motor. Small end turns in conjunction with a fully encapsulated stator provide robustness and excellent thermal management. Through the optimised design and use of high-quality materials, it has been possible to increase AM8000 energy efficiency by more than 10% compared to conventional servomotors.
New single-cable technology from Beckhoff, allows power and process data to be transmitted on one standard motor cable. The encoder data, rotor position, multiturn information and the status of the thermal conditions in the motor are transmitted reliably and free from interference via a digital interface, resulting in significant cost savings. Backlash-free permanent magnet holding brakes and
low-backlash planetary gears are also offered as options.
