The new Pro-face compact, Ethernet GP4100 Series operator interfaces, with full graphic and touch operation capability, are equipped with 85 mm, 16-greyscale, high resolution 200 x 80 pixel displays and USB interfaces. Screen data can be created with the Pro-face GP-Pro EX V2.7 HMI software.
The GP4100 Series offers high quality screens with expanded support of Windows images. Bitmap fonts can be made, even on a small HMI display. There are two types of three-colour LED backlights: green, orange and red; or white, pink and red. These give operators an easily visible operational status.
There are three types of communication models, RS232C, RS422 and RS485. They have selectable isolation for the choice of controller and application requirements. There are some useful new functions to support the small sized HMI. These include scrolling display of alarm messages, history logging of alarms, recipe functions and clock synchronisation with controller data. Together they provide full functionality for HMI.
Type A and mini-B USB interfaces are standard, as well as support for data transfer from a PC via the mini-B port. Support for a USB memory data transfer via the Type A interface does not require a setup engineer to take a PC to the factory floor to update its programs. The Type A interface can be used to connect devices such as a USB code reader and a serial communication device via a USB-SIO conversion cable.
The GP4100 operator interfaces are claimed to be the first compact graphic operator interfaces equipped with USB I/F x 2 (Type A x 1, mini B x 1). They have a 105 x 66 mm panel cutout which is compatible with competitors’ products.
