SKF Microlog instruments and associated SKF @pitude software deliver real-time and historical analyses for effective predictive maintenance and process traceability, assisting in improving uptime and productivity. Developed to assist engineers perform maintenance on a wide range of machinery with rotary or reciprocating motion, the instruments allow the effects of vibration to be measured quickly, accurately and efficiently.
With simplified collection, analysis, utilisation and sharing of machine condition data, the SKF Microlog series includes route-based instruments. These work with SKF’s powerful predictive maintenance software systems and standalone instruments offering on the spot advice and signal analysis capabilities.
The new handheld SKF Microlog Advisor Pro Balancing Kit, for example, is ideal for onsite balancing of rotors such as electrical motor re-winders and supports both single and dual plane balancing. This new instrument, with easy to follow menus, ensures that machinery operate at optimum performance levels and that operating costs are reduced. Using robust, high-speed data processors, the unit provides real-time display updates of vibration amplitude and phase angle, while calculating the optimum correction weights as required.
Other handheld Microlog instruments include the Analyzer AX, which can be used for a variety of data collection tasks and can be customised to meet individual application requirements to speed up equipment monitoring. SKF introduced the CMXA 51-IS for vibration data collection and analysis in hazardous environments. This unit features the intrinsically safe (IS) designation as well as a larger, easier to use screen.
The SKF Microlog family of products has been designed to deliver a complete condition monitoring system when integrated with SKF’s existing products and services such as the machine suites and reliability software applications. This allows engineers to perform detailed analyses of field data and produce comprehensive reports easily.
