Radio telemetry is advantageous where data needs to be sent over long distances without physical cables -or short distances over obstacles such as roads or railway lines. N&Z's robotic system is designed for low cost, low I/O applications with license-free communications. Many potential telemetry applications are now within budget when using this robust and affordable system.
In simple applications, data is retrieved at point 'A', converted into a radio signal and transmitted to point 'B'. At point 'B' the process is reversed and the data is reproduced or 'cloned'. In a more complex system, data from a number of outstations can be reproduced at a central station. Additional capacity is available by setting up further networks at different fre-quencies.
The basic unit is a combined transmitter/receiver with eight built-in digital channels. In addition, up to eight analog inputs/outputs can be connected to this transceiver. As all the digital and analog channels are software configurable as inputs or outputs, the system can both monitor and control. For example, flow rates and levels can be measured and pumps started and stopped as required.
The robotic transceiver is part of a family of radios that include mobile and handheld personal radios to meet all your communication requirements. N&Z can supply primary sensors such as pressure, level, flow and pH to provide a full turnkey radio telemetry solution.
